After reading Kera Bolonik’s Salon article about new wave music and how it gave her the courage to embrace her lesbian sexuality, I couldn’t help but think about the music I listened to when I was a sexually ambiguous, confused teenager who was filled with longing, uncertainty, and a face full of acne.
