Screencasting for the Rest of Us: Screenflow

in libraries

Library Books has been updated to support Snow Leopard.

I’ve spent the last few hours working on a screencast for a neat little application that helps you keep track of items you’ve borrowed from the library. While Library Books is nice and useful, the point of the screencast was to show how with little technical know-how and only a few cursory glances at the online documentation, even you can put together a semi-professional looking screencast in just a number of hours. I used ScreenFlow, a nifty (but not cheap) application for the MacOS, but I imagine using software like Camtasia would produce similar results.

Pardon the flubs — and do I really breathe that loudly? — the goal here was to get it finished and get it online, not to be as perfect as possible. I did take the time to write a brief script for the screencast, but I mostly winged it while recording.
