(and yes, I know Anil Dash says FAIL is over. I’m just not capable of thinking of another way to put this…)

As many of you know, Apple plans to ship the latest upgrade to their operating system (code name: Snow Leopard) on August 28, 2009. It goes without saying that the upgrade will cost more in Canada, so I wasn’t surprised to see the above graphic when I visited the Apple Store online earlier this evening. What surprised me is what I saw after I clicked the “learn more” link.

I don’t think there’s any way to make a case of bait and switch, or false advertising. I don’t even think it’s worth it over something as little as six dollars. Still, it even goes to show you that sometimes the big guns get it wrong when it comes to designing task flows.
(And furthermore, KITTEH!)
