Wikipedia and homophobia

I get that Wikipedia can be edited by anyone and that adds to its charm, but sometimes the randomness defies all reason. I was looking for information about Bryan Adams (don’t ask) when I came across this entry:

Now, I’d never heard the slang expression “chutney ferret” until now, and I wish I’d never heard it at all as I’ll never be able to enjoy it again afterward. Still that’s beside the point.  What responsibility does Wikipedia have for removing this kind of content and seeing that it doesn’t reappear?
